The SAF workstations provide the CCTT Trainer with the capability to supplement manned modules and the Operations Center (OC) workstations with sufficient semi-automated forces, both friendly (BLUFOR) and enemy (OPFOR) to complete a simulated battlefield force that contributes to a realistic training environment.

For the fixed site there are 10 SAF workstations (five each of BLUFOR and OPFOR) capable of supporting up to five simultaneous training exercises. The BLUFOR SAF workstation models the operation of friendly units, vehicles, equipment, and weapons so that their observable actions and reactions are indistinguishable from the CCTT manned modules. The OPFOR SAF workstation models the operation of enemy units, vehicles, equipment, and weapons so that their observable actions and reactions are commensurate with the operation and tactics of the doctrinal OPFOR units.
